This policy explains what information Genx ("the app", "we") handles when you use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your generated content lives on your phone, we don't sell data, and offline mode sends nothing anywhere.

1. Information we collect
- Account information. An account is needed only for the built-in AI service. Sign in with an email address and password, with Google, or with Apple — through Firebase Authentication. Google gives us your name, email address and profile photo; Apple gives us your name and an email address, which may be a private relay address. We never see or store your password. This identifies your account and nothing else.
- Content you submit for generation. Where it goes depends on the mode you choose — see section 3. In the built-in mode it passes through our server to OpenAI; with your own API key or your own server it never touches our infrastructure; offline it never leaves the phone. We do not store your prompts or generated content on our servers in any mode.
- Usage limits data. To keep the service fair, we store a per-account counter of how many generations you run per hour. It contains no content — only a count and a timestamp.
- Crash and diagnostics data. The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports (device model, OS version, technical state at the time of a crash) so we can fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your generated content.
- Microphone. Used only for voice dictation, and only while you are actively dictating. Speech is turned into text by your phone's own operating-system service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). We never record, store or transmit audio.
- Purchases. Token top-ups are sold by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The store handles payment and tells us only which pack was bought. We never receive your card number, bank details or billing address.
2. What stays on your device
- Your history. Every generation you save is stored locally on your phone, in the app's private storage — never uploaded to our servers. Deleting an item, clearing history, or uninstalling removes it.
- Your settings. Preferences such as dark mode, favourites, and AI mode are stored locally.
- Any API key you enter. Held in the platform's secure keystore — Android EncryptedSharedPreferences or the iOS Keychain — not in plain text, and never sent to us.
- Offline mode, entirely. In on-device AI mode, generation happens completely on your phone. No text, prompt, or result leaves the device.
3. Where your text goes, by mode
- Built-in AI (the default, signed in) — from your phone to our server, which verifies your sign-in and applies content-safety checks, then to OpenAI's Moderation API and OpenAI's API to generate the result. OpenAI processes this as our service provider; their policy is at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. Our server passes the text through and stores none of it.
- Your own API key — straight from your phone to the provider you chose: Anthropic, OpenAI or Groq. It does not pass through our servers and we never see it.
- Your own server — straight from your phone to the address you entered, typically a machine on your own network. We are not involved.
- Offline — nowhere. The model runs on your phone.
We do not use your content to train AI models, and none of these providers is permitted to under our account settings.
4. What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not read, store, or build profiles from your generated content.
5. Data retention and deletion
Account information is kept while your account exists. Usage counters expire continuously. Your content history exists only on your device and is under your control at all times. To delete your account and everything linked to it, open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app — it is immediate — or email us at the address below. Full detail in Document 3.
6. Security
Online requests are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). API credentials are held in Google Cloud Secret Manager on our servers — never inside the app on your phone. Access to online generation requires a verified sign-in.
7. Children
Genx is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Third-party services
Genx relies on the following processors: Google Firebase (authentication, crash reporting, infrastructure — privacy details), OpenAI (AI generation and content moderation in built-in mode), Anthropic or Groq (only if you supply your own API key and choose them), and Google Play / the Apple App Store (purchases). We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, call logs or messages, and the app contains no advertising identifiers or ad SDKs.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Meaningful changes will be highlighted in the app or on this site.

Questions or requests about your data: support@genx.cool
These terms are an agreement between you and Genx ("the app", "we") about your use of the app and its services. By installing or using Genx, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Read the full Terms of Use →
1. What Genx is
Genx generates written content — letters, documents, posts, creative writing — from templates using artificial intelligence, in an online mode (processed via our server and AI provider) and an offline on-device mode. The service is provided for personal and business writing assistance.
2. Your account
The built-in AI service requires an account — an email address and password, Sign in with Google, or Sign in with Apple. You must be at least 16. You are responsible for activity under your account, and for keeping access to it secure. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Genx to:
- generate sexually explicit content, or any sexual content involving minors;
- generate content for illegal activity, harassment, hate, or violence;
- attempt to bypass, probe, or disable the app's safety filters, rate limits, or security measures;
- access the service by automated means, resell it, or interfere with its operation for other users;
- misrepresent AI-generated output as sworn, certified, or professionally authored where that matters legally.
Requests that violate these rules may be automatically blocked, and repeated violations may lead to suspension.
4. Your content and ownership
You keep whatever rights you have in the text you enter. To the extent permitted by law, we claim no ownership over your generated results — what you create with Genx is yours to use. You are responsible for how you use generated content, including checking it before relying on it or sending it to others.
5. AI-generated content — important limits
AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate for your situation, even when it sounds confident. In particular:
- Legal-style documents (notices, agreements, complaints) generated by the app are drafts, not legal advice. Have important documents reviewed by a qualified professional.
- Factual claims in generated text should be verified before use.
- Generated content may resemble other content generated for other users from similar inputs.
6. Fair usage
Built-in generation is subject to hourly usage limits per account, and requests pass through automated content-safety checks. These exist to keep the service available and safe for everyone, and we may adjust them. We will give notice in the app before reducing an allowance you have paid for.
6a. Tokens and purchases
Token packs are consumable in-app purchases, sold and processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store — not by us. Tokens are credited once the store confirms the purchase. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged, and expire only if your account is deleted. Refunds follow the policy of the store you bought from. If you are charged but the tokens do not appear, email support@genx.cool with the order number and we will put it right.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep Genx available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available" — online mode depends on third-party AI providers and may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued. We may update the app, templates, and features over time.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Genx and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for decisions made or documents sent based on generated content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Some countries do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and you keep any statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
9. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy above, which forms part of these terms.
10. Termination
You can stop using Genx at any time by signing out and uninstalling. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, particularly the acceptable-use rules in section 3.
11. Governing law
If something ever goes wrong, write to us first — we'd much rather sort it out with you directly and fairly. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Genx is operated.

These documents are provided as templates and general information, not legal advice. Have them reviewed for the laws that apply to you before publishing.
You can permanently delete your Genx account and the data associated with it at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
1. Delete from inside the app (immediate)
Open Genx → Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. For security, you may be asked to enter your password again — or, if you signed in with Google or Apple, to sign in once more — to prove it’s really you. Then the account is deleted on the spot.
2. Delete by email
If you can no longer access the app or your device, email support@genx.cool from the address you signed up with, using the subject “Delete my account”. We verify the request and process it within 30 days.
3. What gets deleted
- Your account identity — your email address and password, any Google or Apple sign-in link, your name, and profile photo held in Firebase Authentication.
- Account-linked service data — including your usage-limit counters.
4. What is not stored by us in the first place
Your prompts and generated documents are not stored on our servers, so there is nothing there to delete — generation history lives only on your phone and is removed when you uninstall the app. Crash reports already contain no generated content and are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for its standard rolling window.
