Genesis AI
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Genesis AI app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to delete it. It covers the app itself and the server component the app talks to.
In short
Everything you generate is stored on your phone, not on our servers. We do not sell data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your prompts to train AI models. What leaves your device depends on which mode you run the app in — offline mode sends nothing anywhere.
1Who we are
Genesis AI (“we”, “us”) publishes this app and is the developer of record on Google Play. For any privacy question, data request, or complaint, email support@genx.cool.
2Data we collect
2.1 Account information
Creating an account is required only for the built-in AI service. We use Firebase Authentication, and depending on how you sign in we receive:
- Email and password — we store your email address and a Firebase-managed account identifier. We never see or store your password itself.
- Sign in with Google — Google gives us your name, email address, and profile photo URL.
- Sign in with Apple — Apple gives us your name and an email address, which may be a private relay address if you chose to hide your real one.
This is used only to identify your account, enforce your usage allowance, and let you sign in on another device. It is not used for marketing.
2.2 Usage counters
When you use the built-in AI service, our server keeps one small record per account: the current hour and how many requests you have made in it, used to enforce a fair-use limit. It contains no prompt or result text.
2.3 Prompts and generated results
What happens to the text you type depends on the mode you choose in the app:
| Mode | Where your text goes |
|---|---|
| Built-in AI default, signed in |
Your device → our server (Google Cloud Functions) → OpenAI’s Moderation API for a safety check → OpenAI’s API to generate the result, and back to you. Our server passes the text through and does not store it. |
| Your own API key | Straight from your device to the provider you chose — Anthropic (api.anthropic.com), OpenAI (api.openai.com), or Groq (api.groq.com). It does not pass through our servers and we never see it. |
| Your own server | Straight from your device to the address you entered, typically a machine on your own network. We are not involved. |
| Offline on-device model |
Nowhere. The model runs on your phone and no text leaves the device. |
In every mode, the result is saved to a database on your own phone so you can find it in History. We have no copy of it and cannot read it.
2.4 Microphone
The app requests microphone access only for voice dictation, and only while you are actively dictating. Speech is converted to text by your device’s own operating-system speech service (Google on Android, Apple on iOS), which is subject to that company’s privacy policy. We do not record, store, or transmit audio.
2.5 Crash and stability diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to find out when the app crashes. A crash report contains the device model, operating-system version, app version, and a technical stack trace. It contains no prompts, no results, and no account password.
2.6 Purchases
Token top-ups are sold through Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store on iOS. The store handles the payment and sends us only a purchase confirmation identifying which pack was bought. We never receive your card number, bank details, or billing address.
2.7 Stored only on your device
The following never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export or share it:
- Your generated history, stored in a local database.
- Your settings and preferences.
- Any API key you enter, held in the platform’s secure keystore — Android EncryptedSharedPreferences or the iOS Keychain — not in plain text.
- Any on-device model file you download.
3What we do not collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, files, call logs, or messages.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites. There are no advertising identifiers and no ad SDKs in the app.
- We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, for any purpose.
4Who your data is shared with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app, and only for that purpose:
| Provider | What they receive | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase — Authentication, Firestore, Crashlytics, Cloud Functions | Account identity, usage counters, crash diagnostics | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| OpenAI | Prompt text, in built-in AI mode only, for moderation and generation | openai.com/policies/privacy-policy |
| Anthropic, OpenAI, or Groq | Prompt text, only if you supply your own API key and choose that provider | Each provider’s own policy |
| Google Play and the Apple App Store | Purchase transactions | Google’s and Apple’s policies |
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of users — for example, in response to a valid legal request.
None of these providers is permitted to use your prompts to train AI models under our account settings, and we do not do so ourselves.
5How long we keep it
- Account information — until you delete your account.
- Usage counters — overwritten each hour; not retained as history.
- Prompts and results — not stored on our servers at all. Providers may retain API request data briefly for abuse monitoring under their own policies.
- Crash reports — retained by Firebase Crashlytics under Google’s standard retention, currently 90 days.
- On-device history — kept until you delete it or uninstall the app.
6Deleting your account and data
You can permanently delete your account at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
- In the app — open Settings → Account → Delete account, and confirm. For security you may be asked to sign in again.
- By email — if you cannot open the app, email support@genx.cool from the address you signed up with, subject “Delete my account”. We process these within 30 days.
Deleting removes your account identity — email address, password, any Google or Apple sign-in link, name, and photo — along with account-linked data such as usage counters. History held on your phone is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall.
7Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase the personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email support@genx.cool and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or degrade your service for exercising these rights.
8Children
Genesis AI is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, email support@genx.cool and we will delete it.
9Security
Traffic between the app and our servers, and between the app and AI providers, is encrypted in transit with HTTPS/TLS. Any API key you enter is held in your device’s hardware-backed secure storage. Our server keeps its own provider key as a managed cloud secret; it is never included in the app. Access to our systems is restricted to the developer account that operates the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10International transfers
Our service providers operate globally, so your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on the safeguards those providers maintain, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
11Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Genesis AI after a change means you accept the updated policy.
